    Made a support buckle today

    Modeled after andersj design:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ersj#post28343

Been looking for a simpler setup and really liked andersj's. Webbing on one side, cleat for cord on the other. I'm using Ed's 1" webbing and 2.8mm Spyderline. Haven't had it out for real, but it's looking great in the living room

It's just small enough to fit through an SMC ring. I think my setup is going to be as pictured, tree-hugger looped through the ring. Buckle plus ring weighs an ounce.

Looks really good! You have a lot of work in that piece. I made some too for my 2" webbing, but I cheat...I have a milling machine. Really makes adjusting a snap and it will never slip.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

I'd LOVE a milling machine. This was all my vice, Dremel, and hand files.

I'm very impressed with the hitch on the cleat so far. I was a little nervous about it before I started, but it's rock solid.

About three hours. I drilled a series of holes along the borders, then "connected the dots" with the Dremel cutter, used it to get things close, then finished with the hand files. I'm doing the second one now. I was giving myself till the Skins game is over, but it's coming along quicker than the first.

I may try to steal some time on the waterjet machine at work. That would cut one out really fast!

Nice work Patrick, what are the dimensions of those two slots? Slightly over one inch in length I'm sure, but how wide is each slot?

Slots are 1" wide by 3/16" tall. Bars in between and on the bottom triangle are 1/4".
