    Free injector

Offered a dinosaur injector today. Going to check it out Saturday. Fingers crossed hoping it works well. Family friend saw me fiddling with a $25 steel beast in a thrift store and asked if I wanted to help them get rid of an old free standing model.

sometimes those "old timers" work better. They were made to last. Like any tool, you'll have to learn all the little quirks, but stick with it. DIY is so much fun (working on my UQ).

    Good Luck!

Yeah, I'm thinking it's a good one. She's 70 and said her mother used it to make and alter a zillion sets of clothes.

I'm thinking it's been well taken care of and just not used in a while.

It will be a welcome replacement to my new fangled plastic HOJ which I'm ready to toss out the window.

I don't think I've used a machine newer than 40 myself. (I do wish I could find a newer carry case though)

Pretty sure they quit making sewing machines in 1962

If it's been sitting a long time, it'll probably need to be cleaned and lubed... grease has a tendency to dry out and get hard...

If it's a goodie, it'd be worth the cash to get it serviced....

I made the mistake of giving away a 60's vintage kenmore unit 3 weeks before I got the hammock bug... Darn that Murphy guy...

I got an old one and took it straight to a repair center and had a basic service/lube done. Cost me 60$ but it was worth it for piece of mind and confidence in a quality machine.
