    DIY sleeping hat?

I've got some camo ripstop, some blaze orange ripstop, and some leftover climashield. I wanted to make myself a reversible hat from the materials at hand. Anyone have any ideas on how they would make one?

I was thinking of a simple insulated tube headband, with a round insulated top sewn in... maybe a drawstring for fine tuning the sizing. I thought I'd use it for warm sleeping instead of the bomber hats that I've seen out there (maybe even take the place of my pillow?), or for wearing around camp.

And I don't want it to look to "dorky".

Great idea, but I'm not sure how you're going to avoid this part.

Looks pretty much like what you were describing. Not too dorky.

It's ok, it can be a little dorky. It is after all for comfort and warmth and not for style.

    Function over form.

Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.

Yep, those are nice. I was thinking something like this:

Ray Jardine has a bomber hat plan/kit, someone said there was a hood plan at Thruhiker.
