    new here

I have been reading here for a while and know a couple of people that hang here. I am waiting for my first hammock and tarp. This forum is still a little confusing and unfamiliar, but I am making my way through. So much to learn...

The learning curve is short and steep, but like any real mountain, the payoffs are huge.

Welcome to H! The shear volume of information here can at times be overwhelming. Hang in there (sorry for the bad pun) sooner or latter the big light bulb in your head will come on, When it does everything will be crystal clear to you.

Howdy, and good luck with learning. I don't know much yet myself, but I'm sure if I couldn't find something my questions would be answered quickly and effectively. So feel free to ask a question, if you get confused or overwhelmed.

The great thing about HF is that the learning never ends. I'm always picking up useful tidbits from the other hangers here.

    Welcome aboard!

I might suggest don't try to learn it all at one time. Watch the videos for an overview and then pick one aspect to read about or research, say tarps. Then review the other videos and threads. That has helped me. I also find myself going back to the original video and picking up on stuff I missed to start with.

    Good luck.

Welcome to the forums and don't worry about the daunting process of learning about hammocks. The truth is, you never stop. This place is just packed full of perpetual innovation.

I tried to list all the things I learned here, and I'm sure I missed a bunch.
