    Suggestion: Enable Forum Groups

Couldn't find any threads where the groups feature was discussed, so I'll bring it up: The vBulletin forum software has a built in "groups" feature that allows for the creation of groups that users can then voluntarily join. I think it would be helpful to enable this feature so that geographic groups could be created.

Right now it takes a bit of effort to find hangers who live near me. If groups were enabled created, then I could simply join the "Ohio" group or even the "Cincinnati" group an instantly be connected with every one nearby.

I believe the groups feature also allows intra-group communication. This would make it easier to organize group hangs for a specific region.

    Agreed.

And, interestingly the version of VB that HF appears to be running is the exact same version when VB released their "Groups" feature. (vBulletin 3.7.0)

Area groups could be nice. However, some of us have traveled across three states to get to a hang. I like to see all of the hang events available for all of us to see.

We will look into that, but right now we have the HF Google Map to find members in your area.

I agree with rhjanes...Texas is indeed a verrrrry large state. But I still think that the GoogleMap thingee works very well to locate other hangers that have indicated so all around the world.

The google map is sweet to visually see but most people aren't on it. It's also painfull if there are a lot of people near you and you want invite them to something regional.

This forum seems to have an aversion to sub forums. Many other forums I am on have sub forums for different geographic regions.
