Speaking of Rain. The fiance tells me that it's supposed to be torrential downpour tomorrow and gusts 40-60MPH. I was told to "take that hammock down!". I retorted with it's the perfect time to test my tarps!

I would also have to agree that my sentiments match up exactly with this statement. I must also say though, that as a new backpacker and hanger, I have spent the last 9 months or so researching nonstop different equipment and gear to purchase, and I have gone from being interested in bushcraft, to more generic backpacking, to lightweight backpacking, to lightweight backpacking with a hammock, and I must say that it seems that at this point I have ordered and purchased just about 3 different versions of every different type of item you might need with you out on a backpacking journey. I have greatly enjoyed "playing" around with all of these different pieces of equipment, and as someone new to all of this, with no good friends that have any interest in it, I feel that the "testing" phase that I have gone through was integral in me getting to the point of feeling any bit confident about what I am going to do in the wilderness, and the equipment that I should bring to make it happen.
