    WBBB 1.0 vs 1.1?

The title should probably be changed to "Much to do over nothing" but I'm ready to order and can't make up my mind between the 1.0 and the 1.1 material for a WBBB Double.

I'm 180 lbs. My plan is to use the BB during the warmer months and my Clark NX 250 in the colder months. My main reason for getting the BB is to lighten my load. I like the double because I occasionally use a pad and prefer two layers for that setup.

I guess my concern with the 1.0 is the durability and the fact that I'm approaching the max flatness (or whatever it's called) rating of 190 lbs.

Any suggestions? Brandon says either but I'd like to hear from users.

    Thanks, Miguel

I remember reading somewhere that Brandon is generous with his weight ratings.

You're right. Want me to go ahead and change the thread title?
I've laid on both material weights and there is very little difference. At 180 lbs you'll not have issues with either. I'd go for the 1.0 just to shave another gram, or three, from the weight.

Aside from the very little weight differnece it seems like the color choice, brown or grey is the only other issue I can imagine. I'm hoping to get one or the other this summer but its deffiently and hard choice with small differences. I prefer the brown but the grey looks great too and it'll match a lot of my other gear.

I'm 185 and have the 1.0. I think the 1.0 is the least expensive, currently.

The double layer is nice if you ever want to use a pad, and it does provide an extra measure of mosquito protection. Don't worry about the durability, treat it like anything else you paid $200 for and it will last.

The rating is 190, right? You're 180, so don't worry. When I fatten up to 191 I'll let you know if it makes a difference!

Thanks all for the advice. I just ordered the 1.0 BrownBird and a MacCat Deluxe tarp to compliment it. It should be a very nice lightweight summer rig which will save me nearly two pounds in the process.

    And the wait begins.

Even more when you change the webbing to Whoopies. And even more if you change your ridgeline to Dynaglide.
