No problem with tent campers -- as long as you understand that we'll try and convert them to the dark side while they're there! Actually the site we're planning to use is actually somewhat better suited to tents than hammocks. But there's plenty of room for both. There are also Adirondack shelters in the campsite if they are so inclined.

Can't speak for the others; but my wife doesn't do camping . Thankfully, she's great about letting me go out and play

The revised forecast looks awesome! High around 70 Saturday with a low of 44. Bright and sunny the whole weekend!

The "normal" camping areas are not near where we will be. However, there is a nice large flat area and bench where the trails meet. There's even a fire ring there. So, I'm thinking you could do a tent there if the park rangers will let you.

And no, I'm not bringing my wife or kids. They're not into getting dirty or sleeping out in the cold. I guess I need to keep working on them.

    Maybe for me...

My wife and I just had a baby last month and this makes two under the age of 14 months. I thought we would have things a little more under control but still having some pretty rough nights. I'm still going try and make it, but it really depends on how well my wife is holding up. Hope I can see u all out there!

They don't stay small forever. On the other hand the only one of the three that will remember you being gone is your wife so they won't hold it against you either.

Well, the time is nigh upon us!

Weasel and I are pretty much packed. I'm carrying WAYYY too much gear for two nights...which is standard for me.

My only worry at this point is my wife, who's been home sick the last two days with a bad cold. Kinda want to stay home and take care of her, and also wanna get out into 'dem piney woods'. She's insistent that Weasel and I head out...I'll make my final decision when I'm back at the house and see how shes' doing.

Hoping to break outta the KC area about 3:30pm or so, to have enough time to find my way on the back roads from St Joeseph to the park and get setup before dark tonight.

We have any trail markers that'll be up to guide us in from the parking lot? Or will someone be out there to respond to a "whooo buddy" call?

Aw man, by the time the Terminex man left today, and I was on the phone with the wife trying to decide what to do, it was too late to drive the 2 some hours. I had planned on leaving from work and riding up to the hang but had to schedule the T guys and they couldn't get here early.

Oh well, I hope they have a good time tonight.

We're north of where the trail splits north to south. We're north at the place on the map with the three shelters. Come see us.
