    Preventing night time falls...

Ok so last time me and the girl went camping was my second time out in my hammock. So I was settled in for the night and she wanted to come say goodnight. Needless to say my tarp lines kinda got in her way...I don't need to continue on I'm sure we know how it ended up. So I got to thinking an googling and came up with this...I know we all like Nite ize products so I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but I'm ordering 2 sets one for each hammock.

What do ya think? Oh I bet you thought this was about me falling out huh? Not this time...not yet.

I bought some of these and I was severely disappointed with the cord's tensile strength. All but one guyline snapped on two different nights, and I'm sure it wasn't friction. Kelty Triptease though, I've had good experiences with. Sierra Designs makes a set identical to the Niteize, except with black reflective cord--mine is still in the package so I can't comment on the quality.

To make the best of the situation, I tied small sections of the green Niteize cord to anything I might need to find with a headlamp. It marks the foot-end of my hammock and inside zipper pulls, as well as tent stakes.

I like the Kelty tripteaze line. Gossamer Gear has their EZC 2 lines are available also.

    Another vote for TripTease

Just the right size for LineLocks, and it is fairly kink-free. Good daytime color as well.

I've been using the Exped 2mm Dyneema stuff for a while, it's easy to pick up with a torch and should help avoid any nasty trips.

The nite-ize glow ring sticks are pretty useful too, I've only got one at the moment but I'm going to get another three for the other corners.

I found my tarp cord in the climbing dept. at REI. Not Triptease, but similar in size. Can't remember the brand ??? Bluewater maybe??? Bright orange for daytime visibility & glows at night.
If there's something to trip on (day or night), I'll be sure to find it!

Kelty TripTease for the win! Keeps you upright while rambling in the night!

I have some of their older stuff, and it's roughly the diameter and texture of para cord (3mm?). The stuff I just received in a recent order is smaller diameter (2mm?) and less supple.

    Happy napping,

Thanks for the heads up!!! I was pretty sure at least one person here had tried this product! I'm going to check out the kelty triptease online and see what I can find.

Haven't really looked at mine, I know it came with the fig. 9, so I thought it was the Nite Ize. Maybe I came out better than I thought.
