    Stupid question in bound...

If you want your feet up why not just lay in the hammock?

Too easy to fall asleep and it's nice to be able to look at a person when talking to them.
    Those are my reasons anyway.

Also, notice knees aren't hyper-extended. And as Cannibal said, can see and talk to your camp mates.
    Think I'll add one too.

    MOST DEFINETELY!

If you are shorter you can hang higher and not have to have your feeet actually touching the ground. It allows you to hang higher and not have to worry about ground splatter in inclement weather, also by hanging higher you don't have to stoop over as much if at all...especially if you are tall.

    More comfortable for lollygagging.

    Great question!

Hanging higher means dropping further. I never hang higher than I am willing to fall.

Then just hang at the height that you always do, and use the footline at that height. It actually doesn't matter what height your hammock is hanging to be able to derive the benefit of the footline in use.

Unless you have used one, you really can't have experienced the feeling, and don't really know the joy and comfort that it can add to the hanging experience.

    Try it...you'll like.

I liked the comment about using it to hang stuff from, that just got added to my bag of tricks.

Hadn't thought about this until this thread. +1 to the "to-do" list.

Oh my God... More comfort and joy?? I really don't think I can handle any more...
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..
