See, so much information already! We need the winter sub-forum.
See, so much information already! We need the winter sub-forum.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
"Below 0°" might be a bit too narrow to warrant it's own sub-forum, but I'd love to see a general "Winter" subforum!

Winter camping is it's own beast. I agree that a "below zero" is too specific. There are a tom of winter camping tricks and techniques that can be applied to cold weather in general and winter camping specifically.
And like Beeps revelations imply about the subject, these tricks and techniques really do not apply to fall spring or summer excursions.

I cant see where any mods have said yeah, or nay to a cold weather sub forum. If it's something they allow it would sure be nice to get going as we are transitioning into colder weather so people can learn from each other as we go.
The mods have listened, and we appreciate the request. But another subforum doesn't provide answers that aren't already here. Many hangers have now hung in sub-zero conditions. There are a multitude of existing threads about deep-cold weather hammocking.
Every single topic that has been mentioned in this thread fits into the existing categories (insulation, weather protection, etc). We should keep that organization in-tact. And if you have questions about technique that aren't found elsewhere, place them in the General Discussion forum.
