    Exclamation Dolly Sods Wilderness!!

Awesome!!!! Ok so myself and 3 of my hammock hangin' friends made it out for 4 days and 3 nights in the Dolly Sods Wilderness. The weather was amazing including 29º F the first night (my Crowsnest was awesome but my 40º sleeping bag was mocking me for not buying a 3 season Burrow yet). we didnt see many people on the trail but we did have to put extra time in finding secluded camp sites. in the end we had some great sites to hang. the last night was so full of yuppie wieners that it looked like REI made an airdrop of all the latest and greatest. we also had a great time sipping spiced rum and watching a group of hippie wannabe girls try and light their fire across the river in the dark. the comedy got even better when we woke up to see that they had hung their food bag almost directly overhead! any ways, I have caught the picture/video bug and here is part 1 of our trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJo9Y_kHMwc

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The video is marked as private and can't be viewed. From your description, I would love to watch it!

Nice video trip report. Like the mix of stills and motion plus a great soundtrack. Looking forward to part 2.

Thanks guys. Half the fun is re-living the trip putting the video together.

this was our plan and it gave us an awesome tour of the whole Dolly Sods wilderness.

    Day 1: 2 miles
Arrive by 4:30 to Red Creek campground (were we will park)
Hike in 2 miles to the intersection of Blackbird Knob and Upper Creek Trail

    Day 2: 10.7 miles
Upper Creek trail - Raven Ridge - Rocky Ridge - Big Stonecoal
Camp at intersection of Big Stonecoal and Dunkenbarger

    Day 3 : 10 miles
Side Trip—hike up to Lions Head overlook (2ish miles)
Dunkenbarger - Little Stonecoal - Red Creek
Camp past the intersection of Red Creek and Breathed Mountain

    Day 4: 3.2ish miles
Red Creek - Blackbird Knob - Red Creek campground
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,

You planned a fine tour. Days 2 and 3 must have been amazing - hope the weather was good. I bet you camped in the same spot I did near the Breathed Mountain trailhead. Did you swim?
