    Moving the JRB/SnugFit stuff to its own thread...

    The JRB has baffles inside that aren't cut on the differential...that means that by sewing in the darts you're only limiting the amount of tension that can be applied to the outer shell. That's a good thing...but those baffles will also keep the quilt from lofting to its full thickness at the places where you dart. You'd have to dart the material before sewing the baffles on to get any benefit.

    So the different sizes of the SnugFit's inner and outer shells are only one of the things that makes it fit better than the JRB. It's a completely different design, with important steps all through the construction process, to make a different piece of gear.
