    Reflectix

So I was at Lowe's, and saw the huge 30' roll of reflectix, but couldn't justify such a large purchase (I did, however, purchase a small paint can to make a wood stove).

Then, I went to Wal-mart, in a desperate search for shock cord. While searching through the auto department (because that's what the sales associate told me), I saw a windshield cover from Auto Expressions. It featured, "reflective, double thick insulation". I immediately thought of reflectix and purchased it.

There seems to be enough to make a couple pot cozies and to use as a sit pad or extra insulation.

    Is this stuff really reflectix?

There are a number of people who have used a truck sized windshield reflector as insulation. The only downside is that it reflects heat and moisture: you could end up with a cold back.

Reflectix has the same issue, but is more flexible...

If you really want some reflectix, check out local RV supply stores, the ones in my area sell it off the 4' wide roll in 1' increments...

Paul at AHE sells it by the foot.
Its a proven fact that 78.4% of all statstics are made up on the spot.

I don't think the windshield reflector is Reflectix®, but it works the same way because it is similar. As John said, the windshield reflector has been used successfully in the past by many members.

Yessir bob....Paul and Princess do make an all attempt to provide us with all of the things we need, but don't want to buy in large quantities ourselves.

Arrow Head Equipment (AHE) is a much needed and welcomed entity around thses parts (the world of Hammock Camping/Hiking/Canoeing).

    Amen,

The world is a better place with AHE in it... Ordered a number of things from AHE in the past, and I start there when I'm looking for something.
