Berowra Valley Regional Park, Sydney, NSW, Australia. Group Hang - November

    Hi Guys,

Looking for interest levels on a group hang at “Black Ash”, a campsite located a couple of K’s south of Crosslands reserve which is at the end of Somerville Rd Berowra.

    Latitude 33°38'20.53"S
    Longitude 151° 6'13.25"E

Date for the overnighter is not locked in and look to get feedback on date preferences for any looking to come and join in on the fun.

Date Options are 13th, 20th, 27th of November

Parking is available at the Crossland reserve, overnight parking fee is payable for the benefit of secure parking.

If a longer walk is desired, there are a couple of options that can be taken on a return walk basis that heads back to the camp site, or alternate start points are a option.

I’m up for any idea’s that you may have on the times of day to meet and walk suggestions – Let’s just get out there!

Any questions about the site or area? Please ask.

The image attached is only a part of the camp site, with room available for a fair few.

I’m looking for this hang to be a warm up to the Blue Mnts hike ‘n’ hang that GoodTalkRuss has threaded for next year.

    Hi Lep,

Late Nov could be a go for me. Hopefully my shiny new WBBB arrives in the next couple of weeks.

Let me start putting in the ground work with the missus and get back to you. I seem to be in the good books at the moment, but who knows how long that will last.

Link to the Blue Mountains thread is below. Really just looking for interest at the moment.

I'd say sure but I am planning a 5 night trip to Mt Kosi NP late in the month...

    My wife would skin me.

Hope you have a good trip for all those that attend.

    Great stuff guys,

Keep me posted on availability and if you have any ideas / inclusions of specifics that you prefer.

I'll let the thread run for a week or so and see where we are at and make a move to firm plans up then.

Just secured a leave pass for the weekend of 20th November. Can also do weekend of 13th but would rather not as the kids have a Nippers carnival.

I'm thinking I might just park at Berowra and walk down to Crossland then head south 'till I hit the campsite. I've done the Thornleigh to Mt Kuringai section of the GNW and think I remember where the campsite is. From memory it's only about 6-8kms.

Anyway...details. We can sort that out later.

    Cheers,
    Russ

All sounds good to me... I've added some maps for discussions sake.

    Hi Guys,

Any updates on availability? I'm afraid I'm only free on the 20th due to family commitments the other weeks.

If the group hang doesn't get up then I'm going to do a solo anyway. I was originally thinkg of starting at Berowra, but am now thinking of starting at Berowra Waters.

    Cheers,
    Simon

I'm in for the 20th too - So it sounds like that's the date.

    Anyone else up for it?

Let us know so we can take your preferences into account before we start locking further details?

GTR - I did the Berowra waters to Crossland return last Saturday morning (yeah, you know that day where it was really hot and humid early in the morning?) it's a good walk but I has not overly impressed in the scenery. The walk up the ridgeline from Berowa waters is a good solid start out of the gates which was a bit tough – but the return was the payoff as always.

That said I’m happy to run with your preferences as I’m in area frequently and can say that I have not found a track that I’m not smiling while I’m on it. First track vid ever attached - its no parramount production I warn you!

What sort of timing did you have in mind? Mid morning Sat start from BW, mid afternoon finish back there?
