Augmenting an under quilt.

My 3-season 3/4 CrowsNest UQ has kept me toasty so far this fall, but I was wondering if anyone had augmented an UQ with Reflectix for colder temps?

I was considering cutting pieces of Reflectix to fit the pockets of my NX-250. It seems to me that in that position they would be in the proper location to act as a vapor barrier (although there would be gaps at the pocket edges). Anyone tried this?

you'd be better off (imo) going with very thin ccf (you can get 1/8" landau or minicel or eva)

that adds at least 15 deg for me.

i know 1/8" ccf will take up less space than reflectix and i bet it will be warmer as well

You read my mind. I been thinking the same thing with my NX150. I have some reflectix sewn into a fleece bag from wally world, for a pad, but keep sliding off and getting CBS. Got a coupla synthetic comforters at auction 2/$1 but I'm reluctant to do the butchery to build a UQ. If they aren't snug, you're cold. Good luck, I'll eagerly await posting of your results while scheming the purchase of one of Stormcrow's incubators.

I'd be curious as to how it would work with Insul~Bright, instead of the Reflectix.

and I agree that the 1/8" CCF would be as warm as the Reflectix. But I just happen to have a roll of Reflectix.........
