    Restuffing my Golite Ultra 20

Like several other members I bought a Golite Ultra 20 back in 2008. There have been a number of complaints about how little down was put in that quilt (the new version apparently has more down). After suffering from cold feet on a few occasions I decided to do something about it. My wife and I recently added 3 ounces of down (from thru-hiker) to the quilt. I really like the result.

Pictures and detailed descriptions of the project are here. It wasn't as difficult as I feared so if you are disappointed in your Golite Ultra 20 then you may want to give it a try.

Nice work....Can I borrow your seamstress?? I've been thinking about doing the same thing to a Luxurylite bag I bought a few years ago as a second. It's got a couple of chambers that are really lacking. It's either fill up the lacking chambers to make it a better bag or just hack off the hood/zipper and recycle the down to make it a good quilt. Either way it's a lot of work or money or both.

    Very sweet!

I have one of those to (this years model) and I do agree its lacking on the down. I highly doubt this can truly be rated at a "20-degree" quilt.

I lack the skills to do this (and happily single) and pretty much plan on having to buy a heavier quilt from one of our own hammock cottage makers.

Love it! I might have to try this with my GL Ultra20.

    That looks great!

Thanks for documenting and sharing. Nice to know the Dyson can handle the cleanup!

Nice writeup. I've got the new version, love it, and hopefully won't have to add down but at least I know where to get instructions if I do.
