Replacing my HH tree huggers..little advice

I am going to place an order with strap works for replacements for my tree huggers. The site asks about how big to make the loops and size. I am going to start using the marlin spike hitch. What do you guys rock?

I am currently using 10' straps with Dutch clips sewn in to the end. I used 10'6" piece of webbing and folded over 6" to sew together. The Dutch clips have made life easy the last couple of trips out where my tree huggers were frozen and I had to pack out the toggle I used.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

I hope I'm not sacrilegious, but Harbor Fright carries ratchet straps in the 1" size that make great tree huggers. The color's a bit repugnant, however.
