ID this military surplus "textile tape."

I picked this up for 12$ at a Maplewood, MN military surplus place. It's labeled "textile tape" and is breath over an inch wide. 3 feet of it weighs 4 grams. It burns black and hardens like synthetic on the edge, but not drippy like poly rope. It'll fold over nicely for tarp edging. It's not exactly grosgrain, but is it? Here's a few photos. The price was good, and I'll use some of it in my next project. It feels plenty strong enough for pull-outs and just about anything.

It does look a bit like grosgrain.

Looks like a type of grosgrain used to reinforce heavy duty parachutes. Like the type used for vehicles and such.

It's not grossgrain. It is webbing or tape. The "fuzzies" in the last picture make it look like polypropylene or acrylic. There is no reason you could not use it in places where you would use grossgrain. I use webbing instead of grossgrain for tieouts and other strength places.

If it is mil spec, you may be able to find the mil-spec ID number which will describe it in great detail. If you must know the material, you can burn it more and use these charts to try to determine the content.

Now THAT'S information. Thank you, Nacra. Hammock Geeks are always Johnny-On-The-Spot with the data.
The tag reads... 13304--but that's probably the store code for CC Military Surplus, Maplewood, MN. They had parachutes there, too. I went for a poncho liner, which they had, but I decided against buying until I had thoroughly rooted through my junk around here for improvisables.

    You're right, I didn't notice the "fuzzies".
