I should have a video coming pretty soon .... my wife has me busy with her Studio's Fundraiser ....... ahhh, the curse of being wed to an ambitious woman.
Almost as challenging as being married to a very smart woman...but if she's that too, then you sir have many opportunities for character development!

Hmm, that thar is sum good stuff

Like the way you combined the ideas.

Call me crazy ..... I like both. Fun to switch out from time to time.
Bridges seem to take a bit more length due to the suspension right off the hammock but it is really a moot point. Same with the poles.
But the comfort is big and I can totally see how some hanger would prefer them
They work as a chair well too!

I agree. I think that the bridge is probably more comfortable for me but I like the simplicity of a basic gathered end hammock sometimes and how they are able to be hung closer to ridgeline of tarp. It would get boring if we did not have options

I thank you hangout .... when I saw that bug-net on your bridge something clicked and I knew what I needed to do!
    I too like both types.
Having the holders on the spreader bars was genius on your part.....

Great job Shug. You did us bridge builders proud. I'm going to use the same suspension on the bridge that is under construction in the basement, when I get back to it.

Shug, are those bug-net end flaps pockets? If not, would pockets and the added weight of contents mess up the seal?

I have my ridgeline pocket hanging off of the head end .... it loops to the green strip that goes on the pole.
I think that you would be OK doing it.... I think it would help it seal.

    Excellent!

I'm really liking the bugnet! It was good to review the link that you posted to Hangnout's video also. There are several cutting edge ideas shown in there.

When I saw that video, something "clicked" for me too. I thought; "A lot of DIY bridge hammock builders will want to try this! Now, with the no-zip bugnet solution, and Hangnout's end cap solution, it's not really much harder to build a bridge than a gathered end hammcok."

Well done, Shug! I have a few small questions.

Do you prefer the bridge at Bluegrass Festivals due to better support while sitting and playing instruments?

You show the bugnet end cap. Do you have a pocket that it slips in to? Or is the flap of material itself creating a seal by draping inside the hammock end cap? (edit) Well nevermind on those last two questions. I was typing slowly enough that the questions were asked and answered before I hit "Post".

    Thanks again, Shug!

Shug, What ever happened to the video on this project. I am specifically curious on how you closed up the head and foot ends?
