Looking for layout/plan dimensions of Speer Winter Tarp, so I can make one myself. Can anyone help me with this? (dimensions)

The speer is for a 8x10 rectangle. Try Scott at Backwoods Daydreamer is link below to his winter tarp measurements.

With an 11' ridge that is just about right, the overall is miss leading as that includes the "doors" that tuck in when closed... Much shorter than 11' and coverage at the ends can become an issue... IMO...

As an owner of the BWDD WD tarp I can say that they are just about the perfect size for any hammock on the market today. My only major complaint right now is that he is not making them at this time and that he is not making them in SpinnUL. I have given this tarp to the signifigant other for a trial run to see how she would like it.........she has yet to return it!!!!!!!

I have a (now collector's edition) SWT. I have not opened it up to measure the dimensions but 11' sounds about right for the ridgeline. I dissagree that this creates any coverage issues with doors open or closed. My hammocks have a 108" (9') structural ridgeline so the SWT extends 1' past the hammock on either end. I find that works great. I have also used my SWT many times to cover 2 hammocks side by side and stayed very dry even through a full night of rain.

FWIW: The SWT is a great piece of gear and I was sad to hear it is out of production. I may make a clone sometime my self...
