    Greetings from Albany Oregon

I finally made it on board the forums! I am a hammock sponge ready to soak up the hanging knowledge. Special thanks to MedicJim for leading me here and helping me get setup. I have enjoyed Jim's You tube videos for quite a while and Jim has said some kind things about the folks on Hammock Forums. Jim's and of course Shug's videos brought me to the forums. Whoo Buddy!

I have a youtube channel and blog if anyone is interested:

Welcome aboard Mike. I too recently joined and have enjoyed the knowledge and wit of the members here so much. There are so many helpful sorts here that almost anything you ask about there will be somebody with a pearl or two of wisdom to share with you.

    Happy Trails,

    Mike

Welcome to the forum! I spent a couple of months in Corvallis back in the day--absolutely loved it, but they tied me up and shipped me out because they found out I was from California (my fault for not keeping it a secret ).

All kinds of hammock academia here, so sponge away. Folks are super friendly and super helpful, so as questions arise make sure to ask away! Can't wait to hear about your experiences.
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Yeah, we usually only tell the Californians that it rains all the time.

I lived in Tillamook during the winter... it DID rain all the time. I look back in my journal, and it would go weeks without any mention of the weather, and then one entry would finally read, "The sun came out today." And then later that evening "Rain, again." Then no mention of weather again until the next time the sun came out (usually weeks later).

Still though... absolutely worth it (especially during the salmon run ).

Yeah, Tillamook get lots of various flooding. Those cows make some good cheese though. I was just up there about 3 weeks ago.

    Eugene John here.

It's good to see more Oregon hangers. I haven't gotten a chance to go out with any yet but I'm looking forward to hanging in the snow in the next month. The passes got 12"+ last night so it won't be long till my favorite haunts have snow.
