    Clamcleats

The line locks sold in the Hammock Forum shop are as far as I know a product by Clamcleat. Looking at their webside I came along "aero cleat", which they advertice for the use with hammocks.

    Have a look at http://www.cleats.co.uk/home/details.asp?id=64

Is anyone familair with this product?

I wish they'd give it a load rating. One issue is the rope size ranges from 3/16 - 1/4" or 4 - 6mm. That would be fine with most stock suspension lines but it seems most people are using 7/64 or 1/8" amsteel. Too bad as I like the idea.

They are PLENTY strong enough if you use a fat or covered/double braid line. Fatter lines have greater holding power.

They will not grip well with amsteel or the other small single braids. When they do, it's inconsistent.

You are right, should work fine with Hennessys standard suspension cords, but not with thin lines.

Btw the mini line locks are ok with 1,5-2 mm. single braid for tightening tarps etc.

I am using the big aerocleats on the standard Hennessy rope at 2 years now, the only thing i had was using it as a single line retainer.
It seizes up a bit, but as a loop, then there is no problem.
