The HH Explorer and Warbonnet Blackbird are probably similar in terms of comfort. Both are big hammocks. Since you already own the Explorer, I'd suggest getting the 2QZQ zipper mod. A modded Hennessy allows you the wonderful option of going completely topless when you want but also allows bottom entry when it's really buggy.

I have the wbbb1.7 and love it its very comfy for me. But on another note I gotta save up for the explorer just so I can have a zipper mod. Either way you go your going to get a great end result. If you have the explorer and want a top entry I also agree getting a zipper mod (check out mod 4 so cool)then you'll have evemore money to buy more gear with
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

That being said, the zipper mod changed the HH from good to great and I kept the bottom entry for evading swarms of skeeters.

The WBBB is an excellent hammock and the shelf is a great addition, but I'm not sure if that shelf tips the scales on comfort (which is the main reason for moving to a hammock in the first place). I'd say, if you're truly comfortable in the HH but want the convenience of a top loader, send it off to 2QZQ and apply the difference on what you would of spent on the WBBB to a quality UQ.

Just make sure you get a UQ that will work on either the HH or WBBB because you're going to end up owning both...just sayin'.

That is exactly what I was looking for. A comparison between the HH Explorer and the WBBB. Thanks a lot bdpalace.

Thanks to everybody else who helped as well. I think that I am going to go with the HH mod 4 for now, but somehow I know that in the next few months I will also be the proud owner of a WBBB 1.7 dbl.

Pretty much ditto those 2 posts. I have and UL Explorer and a WBBB 1.7.

I think I can be more comfy in the BB when on my side with legs straight- not a big dif in fetal. On my back they both feel about the same but the HH has less calf pressure problems for me.

The difference is shoulder room, ease of set up right outta the box, and dont need a zippermod.

Although I have 2qzq ULBP and use it more for lounging than sleeping. The bugnet is always rolled back.

    get the WBBB.

I'm thinking "at least" was the key words.
