    Finally have a respectable suspension!

Well, I finally have a respectable suspension system! I have whoopie Slings for both ends with 15 ft. 1 inch poly straps from AHE. Everything came yesterday. I didn't have time to hang with it yet due to putting my time in on my hunt thats starting on Saturday, but I did get the chance last night to go ahead and remove the stock rope and biners from my ENO DN. then I just put the small loop end of the Whoopie through and their you have it. This is correct, correct? I will be attaching the other end of the Whoopie to my poly straps via marlin spike hitch.

I also bought an adjustable ridge line for the ENO. As of now I have the ridge line attached (via mini biners) directly to the Whoopie where it comes out of the hammock material. Is this correct or will it mess up the whoopie?

here is an attempt at an illustration!!

Any and all advice/comments are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Tbull

Looks great! If I'm understanding your illustration correctly, that looks like what I do with many of my end-channel hammocks.

Looks good Tbull. The only thing that you may want to change (depends on the strength of the mini biner) is to skip it and slip the loops of the ridge onto the whoopie where it comes out of the channel before you loop the adjustable part of the whoopie though the eye of the whoopie. Most mini biners are not rated to the amount of load that the ridge will have on it.

Okay Gang, Finally got a chance to get out side with the kids and the ENO DN for a test run with the new suspension. I was amazed at how this setup was so much more comfortable than the stock rope with ratchet tie down straps (which were obviously not poly). There is very very little to no stretch now, and that really makes things easier. I laid in the hammock with the kids for about an hour then snapped some pics! I love the whoopies, straps and ridgeline I got from AHE, thanks!!!

    Man it was super windy!!!

Nice setup! If I didn't know better, I would say that those are predrilled pen blanks you are using as toggles. No?

Thanks! No they are not pen blanks. My father-in-law got me a bunch of them, they are spacers of some sort that came out of a piece of electrical equipment. He is an electrician at a power plant and they had a piece of equipment go bad and he grabbed these for me. He says they are fiberglass, but they look more like Micarta to me, oh well they work great.

Thanks! They love to play in the hammock and my daughter absolutely loves to sleep in it with me when I do my backyard testing!
