    Why wait - 2yo is plenty old enough to go camping! Especially if she sleeps in the hammock with you...extra warmth for no added weight (until you carry her back to the car...).

    Wanted to bump this thread. Would anyone be interested in doing a short backpacking trip that I could take my 8 year on sometime say mid/late May or June near the triad in NC?
