Roman Palm Series Sleeping Bags (anyone have one?)

Hi, I'm a lurker. Been here a couple months (got the Jennette PM too ). Thanks all for the great community to gather info from. On with the discussion...

Has anyone ever tried out one of these Roman Palm Series Sleeping Bags? They make 4 different models. I'm assuming the one shown in the "stuffed size" picture below is the 1 season model as that would be the smallest and best for a sales picture. Hopefully the others aren't too much larger.

Temperature Listings can be found here:
    http://www.kangarootentcity.com.au/welcome/page30.php

    Temp: 2-3 seasons, + 5 degrees
    Temp: 3 seasons, 0 degrees
    Temp: 3-4 seasons, - 5 degrees

took me a while to understand, but i think they are listed in Celsius

    5 degrees Celsius = 41 degrees Fahrenheit
    0 degrees Celsius = 32 degrees Fahrenheit
    (-5) degrees Celsius = 23 degrees Fahrenheit

They are SO small. I think I might try one of these out, short of someone posting "had one and it fell apart in a week" or anything to that effect.

    Welcome Eron,

Never heard of that bag. Seems like shipping cost would be a killer from Australia. Here's a nice quilt that is much lghter than most of those.

oh bother. I hadn't noticed that, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

In all my searching I had only found them on Australian sites. Perhaps one of the other companies ships internationally.

The second site, says this when you hit "check out":
"Please enter your details, and we will be in touch to arrange shipping of your order and preferred method of payment:"

I'll have to start writing them and see if any will ship to U.S.

I though maybe you had a secret source
They do look interesting. Good luck finding more info.
Maybe one of our Australian members has used one.

Oh, and I forgot this in my first reply:

Roman bags are well thought of I think at the cheaper end of the scale.
At about aus$60.00 it is quite cheap

For me to post it to the US and the charge is taken from our postal service, auspost would be something like this.

    Destination Country: UNITED STATES
    Location: Zone C
    Parcel Weight: 0.75kg to 1kg

ECI Parcel Weight: between 500g and 1kg

Details on size restrictions on parcels

Select Service Price Maximum Weight Notes
    ECI Merchandise $54.00 20kg 1
    ECI Documents $46.50 20kg 1
    Express Post International $51.50 20kg 5

    Air mail $24.70 20kg
    Sea mail $16.95 20kg
Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.

Thanks all for the replies and thanks specifically to gunn parker for the shipping info and the knowledge from down under.

I found some videos on youtube of the series (and the "Gone Bush"). The bag looks just a big larger in the videos when compressed than it was depicted in the photo above. Also, as I suspected, as one goes up the scale the size increases.

I had written some of the companies and was starting to wonder why they hadn't written me back. Then I remembered that long ago I blocked all countries except US from my mail server to cut down spam. I'll have to remove AU, write them again and apologize for my stupidity. When I get some info on where we in the US can get these from I'll post back.
