    Hammock Testing/Stands

    Hello yall,
I have a Question. Has anyone here built a hammock stand for testing different hammock configurations indoors? Something about 6-7ft tall. If someone has what did you build it out of and can you give me the plans for it.
The reason I am asking is because I am more than likely going to get a speer Hammock but one of my friends is going to give me an HH. Also I might do some DIY stuff. I want a way to test comfort indoors, and it is cold outside, before I spend all that money on an insulation system for a hammock.

    Thank You,
    Chiefstryker

I sleep hanging from a slightly modified $25 Risk Stand. I did change the plans to make it non-portable; everything got screwed together. I also used 7.5' vertical 4x4s and increased the length to 14'. I've been hanging form the stand for about 10 months with zero problems. I can hang any of my hammocks from this stand.

    Hi
On your second setup, what distance do you have between the uprights at the top where the hammock attaches?
    Thanks

hey check out the stand i just made, the alum tubes could be substituted with any pole, maybe even a 2x4, definately a 4x4. the distance between the posts is adjustable, as well as the hanging height, weighs about 15-20# i think.

anyway, it's about half way down the page.
