Thumbs down What's up with the price increase?

Clearly I was wrong in posting this... so let me just throw this out there..

"it *looks* like HammockGear increased their prices"... i could be wrong.

Moderator's edit: The information that the OP started this thread with is factually inaccurate. The vendor responds (with much more detail than quoted here):

So, I saw this TV I liked. I kicked it around for a week or two and decided to go buy it. I went back and the price had gone up. So here's the really weird twist, I didn't buy it! I guess I should have raised %^*# all over the internet... But instead, I decided to just buy a different TV. What a concept, huh? Adam & Jen, after receiving my Crowsnest, I would have still gladly paid more than what I did. I honestly believe your products were under priced now that I have it in my hands. Does any manufacturer of any product owe anybody anything just because "they have been saving for one"? "Oh gee, we didn't know that, the price increase surely wont apply to you then". I thought the guys at BPL had some worthless, moronic threads over there. I'm deathly afraid were catching up.

Haha that's funny. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think we're gonna be okay here.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could buy some of this gear on layaway? I'd be able to afford some of the pricier gear then. (maybe).

One reason I learned to make my own gear was because of the frustration I felt at not being able to afford some of the nicer gear, the down quilts and whatnot -- so I know that out of frustration comes the ability to empower yourself to better the situation.

Who says you cant? I'd bet money (mine ) that our gear makers would be receptive to such a request! That way, you pay over time & they don't have to worry about hammering out the product until the final payment is due. I'd be surprised if any of our vendors would say no!

You could always just give Uncle Sam some extra money to borrow... You get it back just in time for spring!

True true. I've been known to do that. That works well too.

I really think these kinds of concerns should be shared through a PM. You don't bring up issues you have with someone in front of thousands of people. I am not negating your concern, I just think a PM would be more appropriate. My humble opinion.

My guess would be a little something to do with things like this.
Seems like they were not given much choice.
