Hand raised!!!!! I am always looking for a good homebrew.

On the subject of group cooking: I was wondering how people would feel about that. Since this is a arrive friday night in the dark and set up camp, it would be easy to walk back out to the cars, on Saturday morning, and retrieve small DO's and I will pack in a fire grate if someone would care to have a steak or bratz/smoked sausages over the fire Saturday night. Corn on the Cob, fire baked potatoes or the like are also possible ideas.

How many people are coming will be a deciding factor, I think, in whether we have a potluck group dinner on Saturday. Sound off on whether you want to go it alone or potluck on Saturday night!!!!!!!!

I am no great cook, but will be glad to go either way if I can bring something to contribute. Just to make sure I have the correct coordinates, repost the coordinates for campsite when you get a chance.

I am all for the 1/8 mile hike. It makes hauling extra food easier! I love to cook, and if it is only 1/8 mile, I would consider bringing in some extras, maybe even a DO for a cobler or maybe a lamb stew....

    Coordinates are listed below:
    Turnipseed Parking : N 33 26.647 W 85 50.487

    Chinnabee Campsite: N 33 27.126 W 85 50.973

    Cheaha Shelter : N 33 27.149 W 85 51.124

As of right now, these are the main GPS coordinates that I have for the listed sites. This coming weekend we will confirm the coordinates and also check on the alternate site that is 1/8 mile from the parking area.

I have off that Friday and it is a 5 hrs +/- drive from Nashville. We should be there mid Friday. If we are camping 1/8 mile in then we may bring the smoker.
If camping a mile in I may just bring the coleman stove and cookup some chili

Sounding better every day. It's about a 2 hour drive for me, and I am going to try to be on the road by noon-ish if I can. I will be glad to help carry stuff if you need.

    Ewker/Aboyd:
I will not be able to leave work until 3 pm. I am only like 45 minutes form the parking area so I hope to be there around 4:30 at the latest. I sure hope that the Turnipseed Campsite has good hang sites. Really looking forward to the smoker!!!!!

And if Turnipseed is good, I will bring the DO (or 2) for Lamb Stew and cobler....
