How about--slept outside in the WBBB all summer, then couldn't face no hammock sleeping till next year, so I bought a Brazilian from Seaside Hammocks and installed it inside. The Yeti fits just fine, so I'm now cozy between top and bottom layers of down and sleeping better than I have for a long time. My only problem--what do I do with the bed? Guess you have to put me in the 4th category! I could say that HF changed my life....

I stumbled across this site thru Whiteblaze. I did some reading and decided you people had a screw loose to say the least... Then one day I figured if I found a good deal I'd try this hammock nonsense out. That idea cost me...
It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit

Does this qualify? Tring to do mountain man style of camping with a hammocka nd still be period correct.

light weight canvas and manila rope? ( or more to the point- which period/era/location?) were your 'people' recent immigrants(might have seen hammock in use on board ship coming over)

try a search for the 'aussie ship hammock' that the bridge hammocks are evolved from might be informative!
Hope this helped.. KM (who has taken to hanging the laundry outside just to get some sunshine and fresh air..and nap time.. Hammaca-holic and proud of it!))

I believe you called this a 'passion' in a former post Shug. All about the passions in life. If they fulfill you, keep at 'em!
