I've decided that I'm going to be a -new word(I think) "Hennessy Purist"
-No mods
-Stock Tarp
I haven't had any hurricane's etc... in it,but I will let you know how it goes..
I want to see how far I can push this set up?

I have 2 HH's. I have an old Scout model which I bought used, without netting , and an ULBA.
I've tried two other brands, but they didn't work out. I found my HH's to be MUCH more comfortable for me.
I do prefer no netting since I hang mostly in the cooler weather and don't really need it that often. I'm seriously considering removing the netting from my ULBA, since I get better vertical across that one, where my Scout is not asym and isn't quite as comfortable.
No plans for another brand for a while, but I will be making a few (daughters need converting ), so stay tuned for preferences afterwards.

the matrix has you
No problem with the stock setup at all, EXCEPT attaching the tarp to the hammock support lines. There's very little upside and big downside to that system, IMHO. I'd attach it to the trees directly, and get in the habit of putting it up first and taking it down last. The first time you have to set up and/or tear down in the rain you'll be very glad you did.
I started with an ENO, but have since bought 2 Hennessys. I kep an Exped set up all the time in the yard, and carry an UL BP. Maybe I'll get another brand some time in the future, but it would only be for curiosity's sake.
For me, the bottom entry is one of the big sellers. No trouble, just easy in/out.
For several years now, I've been sleeping quite well in an HH Exped. Except for extreme snow and cold, which I'm not yet equipped to tackle in a hammock, the Adirondacks have throw everything at me they possibly can and I've lived to tell the tale. Torrential rains, hail, sleet, mosquitoes, and the Adirondack mascot, the blackfly, have yet to dampen my spirits on a camping trip in my HH.
I'd only wished they'd have been around many years back when I used to tromp through the Everglades, sleeping in an old school net-style hammock!
