    I am free!!!

Ok , I am never free, but always reasonable....
Been sleepin full time in my traveler now for about 4 1/2 months. It is surprising how cold you can get even in the house, of course I have been tryin to cut back on my gas bills so that doesn't help much.. Been using my wally world pad and dealing with the sweat issues, I finally broke down and grabbed an old fleece blanket, folded it in half, hand sewed two channels, ran some paracord through it and made a full length under quilt... Never goin back...
I feel yet another sickness coming on to add to this hammock sickness..
Could be gas though.. Anyone ever hand sew a hammock??
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

Never hand sewed one, and hope I never feel the need to.
Sounds like you are enjoying your setup. Way to go!

Good luck on the hand sewing!!!!!!!!!! My stitches get ragged after a while of hand stitching, thats why it only do that for small repairs.

    Stan,
IIRC, a member here did hand sew a hammock and a quilt.
I would assume it would take a great deal of time and patience. But it would be a labor of love.

Well now.... I know ya don't want to see my beat up old fleece binky..
    not much to look at..
Gargoyle..... I could see maybe a hammock by hand, but I wouldn't even try an under quilt, that would be scary indeed..

I started out handsewing my IX Pod (proof under album, pic labeled "workshop aka as laundry room) before I rediscovered the old singer sewing machine that I had been using as a sidestand for years. After resurrecting the old singer there was no going back, and the addiction(hobby) took over.

If you are going to hand sew a hammock or anything that needs strength,

I would suggest one thread with a needle at each end . . .

Thread the one needle through and pull until you have an equal amount of thread, on each side . . .

on your first stitch poke the one needle through . . .

then send the second needle on the other side through the same hole . . .

pull tawt but not tight . . .

    repeat for all subsiquent stitches.

    Hope that helps.
