    Susquehannock Trail Fall hike

A couple guys from work and a friend from church and I headed to Potter Cty, PA to hike a bit on the Susquehannock Trail System. It was a perfect weekend. The trail is about 80 miles circular. I'm looking forward to going back and visiting the Hammersly Wild area next trip. Here's a video of our trip. We were supposed to meet up with another group but never did run into them. They were there, but unfortunately we camped at two different campsite and missed each other in the morning. My habit is to camp on the mountain top, not the hollows, and they must have stayed in the hollow.

    Nice video thanks for sharing.
    I do enjoy Potter County.
I didn't have any idea that they still made jiffy pop. I haven't seen any for years now.

I know you've never seen me make jiffy pop but I usually bring one. I use my Caldera cone upside down and the Jiffy Pop sits right down perfectly over my alky burner. The fellow in the video was making his first attempt at the perfect pop and was a little slow with the wrist action.

Use to always carry a JP pan ... haven't seen them in years ... might just have to see if I can find them again. It'd be like being back in the BSA again!

GREAT trip report! Looked like a really nice hike!! and the Orange Pack Cover was also a great idea!! Especially around here in the mountains of New England, where hunters almost outnumber the trees, at times!

    Thanks for sharing that!

Thanks for a trip report from a trail very near and dear to my heart. The Jiffy Pop was a good laugh. My wife tried that for the first time this past summer when camping. It was like high technology for her.

I had spent 4 weekends in the Hammersley doing blaze painting and general trail work in October and early November. The weekend you folks were out I was near by but out on the Black Forest trail with my son David, on leave from the Air Force.

You mentioned you'd like to hike the Hammersley. I'm mulling around an idea to put together a loop hike to "Hang in the Hammersley" for this coming spring.

Bye the way. The place you camped the 2nd night is near a rattle snake den. Come back next time in warmer weather
