I put together a set using the 1.75 and it seems to work just fine. I haven't tested it yet in any kind of real wind, but the locs have held overnight for 3 consecutive nights with no problem.

Tried that. I didn't want the shock cord down by the stake. Too much chance of turning a loose stake into a projectile to go through the Spinn (I did that on my old Kelty Vortex tent - lesson learned). I just didn't like the prussic method.

How is a prussik knot any different than the plastic do-hickey if the shock cord is at the same spot?

Simpler and lighter. Nothing to break.

That makes sense, with or without the shock cord. I looked at the line lock video the other day and it just did not click as usefull. Too much threading. This way it never comes off the line. I predict a run on line locks. ;-)

My 1.75 can slip in the loc a bit in high wind. I'm pretty sure a slippery half hitch or other knot tied directly behind the loc would take care of that though.

Just made a set with 1.75 Zing-it and 1/8" shock cord. You can use 1/8" shock cord as long as you feed the Zing-it through the lock first, then the shock cord

++1 on this system. I just finished my set also, Thanks Shane.
I'll try the 1/8 shock cord later, only if the smaller 3/32 breaks or gets worn due to weather etc. The smaller cord is less bulky.

You could also use the tensioners using exercise tubing, whipped to zing it and use the line loks in the normal way. Would have some give and also be able to adjustable.
