Hungry Hammock Hanger Website
Welcome! Pensacola is my home town, although I haven't been back there in about 40 years. Ended up down near Miami.
We are having a Florida group hang the 3rd week of January in Ocala National Forest. These group hangs are most valuable in that you get to see hammock technology 1st hand and, have a great time with good people.
You will be amazed at the depth of intellectual knowledge applied to something that looks as simple as a hammock! This is a treasure chest of ideas & technique. And it's inhabited by the nicest folks on the internet!
Welcome to the Forum from another in Penascola. It won't be long before you figure out what you want to hang in. Lots and lots of good information on HF. Don't be afraid to ask any question about hanging, someone will have an answer for you.

Welcome from Texas. I've made a lot of tracks down there. You'll learn much from this group. Many hot weather tips & tricks. How to hang in sand.....

Welcome to the forum Smarticle and Sunny's Trike! I am also another Florida native, and I will be attending the First Annual Florida Hang. You should both come and check it out. It will be a great way to get to meet some of the personalities on this site, as well as be able to try out and check out many of the different products and techniques you read about here on the forum. This is honestly probably a better way to get into it than my own method... spending every extra penny I have to buy two of everything that I am interested in without trying anything out first.
Fortunately for me, after purchasing everything I could afford that was talked about on this site, I have realized that people here really know what they are talking about, and I have been happy with everything I have purchased. So then again, maybe you should just dive in and start buying everything you read about. Otherwise, start saving your pennies now, and come on out to a group hang, and then be prepared to watch your savings disappear before your eyes!
Here is the link to the thread about the Florida Hang in case you're interested:
