I use something like it for my tree stand when I hunt. Really convenient.

Pretty cool idea. I have thought about putting a few stops of some kind on my webbing to hang stuff. It was easy when using rope on my HH but will take some thinking on the webbing. Thanks for pointing it out to us. Mule

If you want one like this that goes around the tree, check hunting shops. Some places carry them in the hunting areas. They are just a nylon strap with hooks spaced on it. WalMart may even carry it. Even comes in Real Tree camo.

Mule, check out the new Granite Gear pouches. The shoulder strap ones to be exact. I just got one and they have something really interesting on them to attach to the pack. I have no idea where you would get them but its a thought.

Hmm I do something similar, I have a snugpak "response pack" I just unclip it from my waist and clip it around the tree.

Why not just take one of the common fanny packs, some 1" polyester webbing, add the side release buckles to match the fanny pack and you have the same thing.

Or you could add 1/2 the buckle on the end of your tree hugger and a short length, say 2", just enough to add the other half of the side release buckle. Then snap in the fanny pack, wrap the tree with the hugger and you have the same thing right with your tree hugger.

If you are worried if the buckles will hold when inline with the tree hugger, then instead of putting inline with the tree hugger, stitch the buckle on the top of the tree hugger and simply snap the fanny pack to the buckle on top of the tree hugger.

If you use all webbing, then stitch the buckle on top of the suspension webbing and snap the pack to the webbing.

More than one way to accomplish the same thing.

I was looking at it more for car camping.

good for setting up an all out camp it would give you a place to hang your grill utensils!
