As we are all well experienced with the idea of layering our clothes for flexibility and warmth, I believe the same idea ought to work with underquilts. So I just ordered a Summer Crowsnest. I strolled around the local Joann Fabrics a couple days ago. In the remnants rack (everything 50% off) they had this fabric called "headboard". It's a padded fabric about 1/8" thick. I verified that it is breathable by blowing through it. The remnant I bought is 36x54 inches and weighs 6 oz. It cost $5. Because it's padded, it grips to silnyl. I did a very quick test by putting it between the layers of my WBBB, strung up in my cellar. It definitely provided a some insulation. No idea how much it would add to my soon-to-arrive Summer Crowsnest. But, it's something.
