I believe this is the show I saw almost a year ago and was just a one time deal. He wanted to do 3 months but only made it half the time, and had to have food brought to him. Good show. Too much cry though, haha. I didn't notice the hammock. but a year ago I didn't know about hammock camping.

He actually made 50 days and the producers sent him some food, and he cried some more.. he's no **** Proenneke

I watched this show a while ago. First i was really impressed and liked it. But when the endless crying started it was hard to watch it to the end. If it was that horrible for him to be alone, why the heck did he do it in the first place. If
Anyway, was worth watching but i am sure i would not have cryed that much! Easy to say thought i am not in the yukon alone for 3 month's

The hammock he is using... i believe its a Claytor Jungle Hammock. I thought i read that somewhere.

It's a great book and great video. Much better in my mind than any of the new shows like it.. Well, considering ol' **** stayed for 30 something years, no shows are like it...

I saw the **** Proenneke DVDs; my daughter has the complete set. Astounding. Just astounding. Thirty-plus years in the wilderness.

Too bad about the other guy. Maybe he should have timed his trip to coincide with hunting season, or fishing season, or the height of natural vegetation---fruits, berries, nuts, or whatever. If he knew he was not going to be allowed to hunt, then why feel bad about not getting to shoot a moose? If he found good fishing, why did he not stay there?

How could he know so little about himself that being alone became a greater burden than his pack?

On the covers of the tablets that our grade-school used to give us was printed: "Learning maketh a man fit company for himself."
