This idea is great and makes alot of sense. Here is my simple attempt. Its a longer stuff sack that can fold back on itself. It has a second layer integrated on the outside with pockets sewn in. The last pic is with the bugnet and all the other goodies.

Just a thought, but if you made a few small prussiks out of say some 1.75mm Zing IT, you could put those on the ridge line then clip your s-biners into them. This would keep your pocket from sliding around and prevent it from sagging down with heavy items in it. My .02$

I got the chance to see this DIY stuff sack/organizer upclose and personal a few weeks ago...and it is even better in person, when the dimensions, and layout really come to the forefront. I have a ridgeline organizer with four pockets, but they just aren't wide enough or they aren't deep enough. And the fact that you can cinch the bag closed to keep your stuff securely inside is very nice. I also found that the horizontal opening was more useable than a vertical opening, especially while in the prone position.

I also liked the fact that that because it consisted of contrasting colors, it would be easy to find in low light situations since it would not just blend in with the color of a matching tarp, hammock, or TQ (remember when being stealthy you often want to "Arrive late, and leave early" and that many times means a low-lite situation) . And since different colors were used it would'nt matter which color of night vision lense you were using on your headlamp.

I believe this design is one that truly is efficient and multi-use, besides I am not one to allow lazy gear in my camp either...

With the addition of the second opening (BlackBishop style) it would become even more efficient and muti-useable IMHO.

Question for anyone willing to answer? I got to thinking about the double ended possibility and how to execute that and I wonder would the utility of the double ended bag be lost by the fact that you need to completely remove the bag anyway and clip it to your RL? Or am I missing something here?

Nice! Anytime you can create a functional piece of gear that has multiple practical uses is impressive. Even if you are not a gram counter. Another inspiration for another diy. The Traveler will really like your setup. Time to get the thought process running to figure out a system to convert the double ender into a ridgeline bag. Maybe a length of omni tape running the length allowing the bag to be split open allowing easy removal and attachment from the hammock to the ridgeline. Can't think of any real way to use the bag as a ridge line storage unit and double ended storage bag without removing it every time.

Notice you are a sail maker. Ever come across Spinntex, the ripstop polyester not nylon variety that has not been treated for water resistance or waterproof?

Thanks Koaloha05, I think the omni tape would just blow apart every time you tried to stuff your hammock in, its not terribly strong. Maybe a zipper? But I'm satisfied with a one ended stuff sack.
As for the Spinn fabric, I don't know of any that aren't coated but why would you not want it coated?
