Ok so while out on my little day hike I picked out a "safe" place free of widow makers and such. But what I noticed was that snow was constantly falling on me from the limbs above. Sometimes big mounds of it would come off and really hit the tarp hard. Now granted it just hit my tarp and slid off, but the initial impact was enough to really startle me at times.
Obviously hammocks have to hang between two trees, so this is something I am going to have to deal with. But do you guys, just accept it and grow to ignore it, or do you take preventive measure to make sure that, that one big huge mass just doesn't come down on you in the middle of the night. Do you shake the dickens out of each tree before setting up or what. What about in the middle of the night and it continues to snow, then what. What do you all so to make sure that the "big" one doesn't get ya.
