    Hey hey hey

Hello all, just joined the site from here in Lawrenceville, GA. I'm not an actual hanger just yet, but I'm looking to take the plunge. I've only gotten into backpacking and hiking here in the last 4 years or so. I also like to trout fish and recently have started combining the backpacking with the fishing. Which is one of the reasons why I was drawn to the hammock style. I was looking for a lightweight shelter option to free up some weight to take fishing gear with me. Researching tents that were light enough to meet my needs would have me selling a kidney on the black market. Then I stumbled on Just Jeff's site. From there I've decided to try to make a hammock for my summer fishing trips. I'm still doing some research here for materials and styles, but the HH clone is looking like a winner...

Welcome to HF this is one of the best places there is to learn about hammocks. When you get some time check Shug's Video series for Noobs. They are entertaining and educational at the same time.

Poppabear I disagree.... this is probably the best place to learn about most things regarding hiking and hammocking. To be honest the members here have a huge vast experience level in all areas of hiking and hammocking. I've been a member here for probably a year now and I have done a complete 180 on my hiking style.

oh and Welcome to Hammock Forums.... elevate your perspective
