    gross grain triglides/buckles?

I would like to use gross gain ribbon on a project, for back pack straps etc--------regular buckles seem to slip-----I guess the ribbon is too thin and slick for the buckle to grip. Do you guys know of anything else that I could use to adjust strap tension? (or is there a buckle that would work on ribbon?) Thanks!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Not exactly helpful, but I tried the same thing a while back, and didn't have any luck finding any hardware meant for lightweight webbing such as grosgrain. The only thing I can think of that might be applicable would be Linelocs. Paul at AHE has them too. They hold paracord really well. With a half hitch, I might be tempted to use them for shoulder straps, if I was ultralight.

    Hope you find something!

I have done that. Just used tri glides and ran the end of the ribbon back through and it works. It takes one on each side. Hope this helps.

Triglides work, but don't give you the adjustment like ladder locks.

I gave up and cannibalized a 1" polyester tie down strap I had from Harbor Freight. They're cheap, and not THAT heavy.. of course the strap is yellow with an orange stripe, but it worked...

Yep. And more... They have lots of strap configurations that use that same material... My first tree huggers were made from them...

go with a lightweight polypro, it's bulkier but still pretty light, shopuld be able to use regular plastic hardware with it, i doubt you'll be adding much weight by going with a slightly heavier webbing

I was going to say I have just the thing.......But I have only used them with very light loads so I went to test them with a few pounds of load to see if the would hold and unfortunately if failed with less than 3 pounds of load. Sorry. For a UL pack 3/4 nylon or poly like Brandon said is probably the lightest that buckles might work good on for very much load
