    Comfort?

I am new to hammocks and am really enjoying it. I am having a difficult time staying a a comfortable temperature. In bed you can add and remove covers as you need them. In the hammock I find it more difficult. Adjust UQ or remove cover then it falls on the ground. Is there an easier way to control warmth?

Assuming you are referring to moderate temperatures rather than extremely warm or extremely cold....

Typically I only need to fold down the TQ or unzip the sleeping bag to regulate my temp / comfort. They don't fall out of the hammock

On the very rare occassion that adjusting the TQ isn't enough (have too much UQ), I just open up a bit of a gap between the UQ and the hammock.
    Love my JRB BMB

I think it was TinaLouise on this forum that put a toggle in her shock cord suspension, at the head of her UQ. Then she could simply reach out near her head and either tighten or put slack in the suspension. Just like having a thermostat!

I have a pair of prussic knots on my UQ's shockcord at my headend. Makes adjusting the set up dead easy, and at a push can be done from within the hammock

Most of my problems have been in warm weather or insides. When I first got my hammock it was midsummer and the nights were warm. I did not have an UQ so I used a blanket. I would slide all over it. Parts would be cold and other was warm/hot. I would start out with nothing on top then half way throughout the night I would need a blanket and I would get too warm. Then the blanket would get pushed out. Next came the thermarest. Laying on it would make me sweat until things cooled off. Then I would need a blanket. Put-on the blanket, get hot. Then came fall and an UQ. Some great night sleeps. One night I was laying in my bed wishing I could sleep inside in my hammock when I figured out where it would work. Now inside I get hot with UQ and small blanket. I will keep working on it.
