I carry an enamaled metal cup with me. I recently fashioned an insulator sleeve from a piece of an old mouse pad. Because the cup has a handle, I'm still trying to decide the best way to secure the pad to the cup. Two rubber bands are currently handling the task.

Anyone ever try these Bongo Ties? You can check them out at www.bongoties.com. They look to be pretty handy though not as light as regular rubber bands.

I too get many rubber bands from the mail lady. I find various uses and do use them to hold my tarp stakes together to prevent rattling.

I have used rubberbands in the past for a lot of different things. Nowadays I steal elastic hair ties from my wife because they slide on things a little smoother.

which is why hair ties exist- regular RB's tend to pull hairs out with each on/off cycle..KM (who knows this from personal experience..sadly.)

Great for keeping loose suspension straps in order.
