I know its probably minimal if so, but is a double layer hammock warmer than a single layer one? (without UQ) Just wondering if a double layer gets you a few more degrees in the summer if you went without an UQ.

It's not warmer to the extent that you'd actually notice.
Double layer construction is done for strength (to use two lighter weight fabric layers instead of one heavier weight), for easier use of a pad (between the layers) and/or to make it more difficult for mosquitoes to get to you (they can't line up their proboscis through two layers very well).
