Oh man, I was so looking forward to hiking out on the lake with the full moon to check out Pikes Peak. Might have to hike to the Dam to see it.

Haha, I almost bought a Sevylor packraft in 2009 after following a fellow MTBR.com's blog http://lostcoastbike.blogspot.com/

I hope it's OK to share other forums we frequent, here on HF?

Ordered one of those Jet Sled Jr's($27.95) that shug used for his latest pulk maybe it would float? haha
If it does arrive in time I plan to use it on the Winter Hang. I will help us collect/haul firewood and if you want to get to the lake quick from camp you can use it as a sled, lol

I might throw in a pack fishing pole and some tackle it just depends on how full the backpack is with all this new winter hammocking gear I have ordered.

Mustardman Did you get my PM on ice fishing?

Same here...I have a small kit for backpacking, and I'll bring it if I have room.

Fishing license rules are in effect up there for anyone considering fishing.

Can I bring a few half sticks, or would they frown on explosive fishing?
    I've got a license and I don't think it says specifically that I can't.

As a young Lt, I got some great advice that I've tried to follow throughout my career..."You do what your rank can handle." So I think I've gotten in just the right amount of trouble along the way...

Do you think you can handle that?

I did - thanks for the info. I'm hoping the lake isn't frozen over - I'd like to try ice fishing one day, but that day might be a while from now. I'd definitely need a pulk if I buy an ice auger

I've actually thought about buying an ice fishing pole to use as a normal backpacking fishing rod. Much smaller and wouldn't cast as well, but also short and self-contained.

But right now I have a collapsible rod (telescoping, rather than the two-part kind) that I put a better reel on...that's the one I'll bring to the hang if I decide to fish.
