while they are advertised "water resistant" there are youtube videos of them being submerged for lengthy times and I even saw one where they froze it into a block of ice. Just make sure you have all the ports sealed up nice and snug.

I've heard good things about the Otterbox, but have not tried it myself. I just use a zip lock bag or two and call it good.
