    I need help...

Just took the kids to walmart to visit the wife and do some xmas shopping for each other and I walked out with 14.25 yards of sil. Thing is, the fabric dept at her store is horrible, maybe 10 bolts of $1 fabric. This is the 2nd time I found sil at her store, first time was a year ago.

Looks like the boys get new sil tarps for xmas.

test for true sil: waterproof, not breathable, slippery.

what color is it? cause if it is green or brown, guess who will beg some off of you?

Never found any sil at Walmart. Coated Ripstop (1.9oz) and some with a heavy DWR. Anyone else find any? Just make sure it is WP before spending time on the tarp. Shower works great for testing!

I've found sil at a few stores. Some sky blue and a few bolts of gray.

I was beginning to think this whole Wal-Mart fabric-finding thing was a myth, until a few days ago, and I finally scored some ripstop!

None of our local WalMarts have fabric departments anymore. <sniff> They've been phased out to make room for more large TV's...

Coldspring, you're giving me hope. There's never any at our Wal-Marts.

Wow, that's quite the find (14 yards)! I've only ever found gray 1.3 sil and only once. I had a couple times found what I thought was sil because it held a puddle of water overnight but turned out was DWR. Once I got some real sil the difference was apparent. It seems like since some Walmarts are closing their fabric departments the ones where it is staying open have a lot more $1 fabric lately. At least mine does. So don't give up hope and happy hunting!

I didn't mean I needed help figuring out what it was, I ment I needed mental help for always looking. Guess it's a good thing since I did get it.

It's been hit or miss, I find some of the ones that have larger $1 bins have ripstop here and there. I find plenty of 1.1, but I still have like 30 yards of it, need more 1.9 so I can make more hammocks.

*twitch* I can stop any time I want *twitch*
