    Most Forgotten Item?

I remember a few posts where folks mentioned items they've left behind or forgotten. There can be a lot of moving parts with hammocks, but are they more prone to lost parts?

I almost forgot webbing straps once, and I have lost toggles before. What, if any, item have you forgotten in the field?

I voted other, as i am usually very good at remembering my gear, but even so i´m pretty good at forgetting pegs/stakes for my BB. I even acquired some day glo orange "led illuminated" pegs/stakes just for my BB - but have still lost some of theme, go figure

I left one tree hugger strap at a campsite once. Several days after I left it, I returned to find lt still attached to the tree. Lucky that time.....now I am more careful.
    Take care,

I've left a couple of straps/huggers behind. That's probably the main reason I'm still all old-fashioned and stuff with my webbing and ring suspensions.

    I can't remember the gear I forgot...

...but when camping in a state park or national forest camp ground, I usually find stakes someone else forgot.

I'm a newbie, so I haven't left anything so far. I'm kind of OCD, I still have the original rubber bands around my tent poles that came with the tent 5 years ago.I did find a tree strap at a camp a couple years ago. I wasn't into hammocks then so I wasn't sure what it was at the time. Looks like from the above posts that tree straps are problematic. We'll see if the poll bears that out.
I'm with you Cannibal..... webbing and cinch buckles/rings. Less parts to keep track of.

I hit "other" before I read the "in the field" bit.
In the field, I've almost left my tree straps a few times,
Heading to the field, I almost always forget the map that gets me to the trailhead!

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Formerly known as Acercanto, my trail name is MacGuyver to some, and Pucker Factor to others.

I had to put other. I like to take Sanuk shoes with me and I left a lined pair up the hill on a week long trek. I had to help someone else break camp in a hurry and it cost me some camp shoes.

Give me more time with the hammock and I'm sure I will leave some form of hammock gear up the hill too.

I've wound up improvising tieouts / stakes more times than anything else. Lucky it doesn't take more than a sharp knife to put this together.
